Emerging Digital Concepts (EDC) was founded in 1997 as the vision of two, former IBM systems engineers. One of their goals was to form an engineering and consulting services company aimed at delivering highly sought after, cutting-edge engineering skills, architectural insights, and product development expertise. EDC provides on-demand and contract model services with the flexibility and nimbleness that cannot be achieved by involving huge integrators or companies that have outgrown their initial visions.

The National Capitol Region CAD to CAD Interoperability Data Exchange was awarded the 2010 Governor's Technology Award in the Cross Boundary Technology category! Emerging Digital Concepts designed, developed, and successfully deployed this landmark technology.

CAD to CAD Highlighted at Vancouver, WA ICC

Emerging Digital Concepts was invited to accompany Steve Souder, the Director of Public Safety Communications in Fairfax County, Virginia, to address the International CAD Consortium attendees in a brief Q&A session on the operational capabilities and design of the NCR CAD2CAD Exchange.

Successful Launch of CAD to CAD Exchange in Washington, D.C. Metro Region

Emerging Digital Concepts successfully designed, developed, and deployed a first of its kind, information and functional exchange for Fire & EMS agencies in the Washington, D.C. Metro region.  Three major jurisdictions in Northern Virginia began utilizing this platform to benefit from integrated remote unit statuses and the capability to request remote units on dispatches into their own jurisdiction incidents.  In addition, EDC successfully worked with the three CAD system vendors and their specific CAD products in use by the City of Alexandria, Arlington County, and Fairfax County to adhere to the standards chosen for the exchange and the functional implementations required.
